B E S P O K E
Sometimes an extra special project requires something unique.

Knowing where to start with designing a bespoke piece can feel a little daunting, but for this service I work with you to come up with a print that is personal to you; whether that is to celebrate a significant person or evoke a special place, to illustrate and encapsulate a particular narrative or whether it is to tie together an interiors scheme- it can start with something as simple as a word or be based on a very specific idea- I love to create designs that are distinctive and personal.

Using my expertise in fabric, I will find the best material and finish for your project- which will be completely tailored to it's intended purpose, whether that is an evening dress or a reupholstered heirloom.

There are three main options when it comes to a bespoke piece: digitally- printed fabric, a hand- painted mural, or screen- printed fabric made in my studio. I have ample experience in all, so this can be discussed in the initial consultation for the project and can be tailored to suit budgets, lead times and desired exclusivity.

HOW IT WORKS...
1~ INITIAL CONSULTATION
Starting with an initial consultation to hear about the project, discuss potential ideas and cover whether there are any necessities or requirements needed- for example, outside cushions needing waterproof fabric. I love a vague or abstract brief and am sure I will be able to fully realise any ideas in to beautiful visuals.
2 ~ M O O D B O A R D S
I will then research, sketch and create moodboards of ideas for the concept that I feel would suitably fit the brief. This would include collecting relevant fabric samples to present, potential colours, styles of prints and examples of the best method to realise the design- whether it is digitally- printed, hand- painted or screen- printed.
3 ~ V I S U A L I S A T I O N S
Once the moodboard and key attributes of the design have been confirmed, the designs will then progress in to sketches and visualisations. Preferably using your own photos, I will create a visual of the design and superimpose it in to the photographs to demonstrate how the final design will look, in terms of colour and scale.
4 ~ D E S I G N I N G
Taking the chosen moodboard, colour pallet and print inspiration- I will then start the design. Usually this begins with hand drawn elements and painting, scanning in and putting in to repeat.
5 ~ S A M P L I N G
Once the design is finished, I will then either create or send off for a fabric sample. The sample can then be placed in situ to see how the fabric looks and feels and to ensure it is perfect before production.

After the sample has been approved, I will then begin production of the required meterage of fabric. I have a wealth of contacts available should further production be required- such as a seamstress, and would be happy to organise this and liaise with them to assure the desired finish is achieved.
